Should I clean my sewing machine myself?
You can safely remove lint from accessible areas:
- Using a small brush, a pipe cleaner or a disposable silicone mascara brush, clean out any lint and bits of thread around in the bobbin area
- If you are comfortable with removing the bobbin case, clean out any lint and bits of thread underneath the bobbin care area that you can easily reach
- Change your needle regularly.
- Do not use any canned Air to blow the dust, lint and threads into the machine
- Blowing List, thread and dust into your machine will compact inside your machine, and can harm any electronic parts and computer boards.
- The majority of canned air has moisture in it, which can damage the internal parts of your beloved sewing machine

Vintage sewing machines can be oiled per your machine manufacturer's recommendations. (ie: Cast Iron machines, Featherweights, etc.)
Internal cleaning, lubrication, and adjustments should be performed by a sewing machine technician .
